Dreamers are educators. They are students, our friends, and colleagues.
Dreamers are aspiring Americans who work and study in our classrooms and live in our communities.
Bills before both chambers of Congress could provide legal status and a path to citizenship for nearly 40,000 educators. They are Dreamers—people brought to this country as minors who know no other country as home—and others allowed to remain here for humanitarian reasons. The House bill is the Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6). The Senate version consists of two bills: the Dream Act (S. 874) for people brought to this country as minors and the SECURE Act (S. 879) for people in the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) programs.
Creating great public schools for every child means advocating for ALL of our country’s educators, students, and their families.
Email your representatives and tell them to support H.R. 6, S. 874, and S. 879.
