Fulfill America’s promise of equal opportunity for all students

The Keep Our Pact Act (S. 72/H.R. 764) would create a mandatory 10-year path to fully funding both Title I of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), critical programs for the students most in need. Congress promised to pay 40 percent of the excess costs of special education services when IDEA was first passed, but has never come close—the federal share is now less than 14 percent. The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the unfortunate consequences of the shortfall, hitting students with disabilities who need extra support especially hard. Now is the time to fulfill America’s promise of equal opportunity for all our students.

Email your members of Congress and tell them to cosponsor and support the Keep Our PACT Act.

  1. Hey Marty,
Gov. Abbott and the Republican legislature have severely abridged voting rights and have limited reproductive rights of women.

    THEY are the “Texas Taitors”:)

  2. All children regardless of race origin, gender, sexuality, and especially children that have other needs that are required for them to learn and get an equal education. Those needs and opportunities for an equally education should be protected.

  3. Why – in this country – are we even voting on something that should already be happening? Are we a 3rd World Country?

  4. As a former Special Ed Teacher, there is definitely not enough funds to educate children/students. There are not enough funds for education period. Students with special needs must have adaptive equipment, individualized materials, and therapist to obtain the skills needed to get the education equal to their peers, or just to be educated appropriately to their abilities. The Federal Government must fulfill the laws with full funding. If we can give a massive uncounted for DOD budget that they don’t need, then the have the funds in the budget for education.

  5. THE TEXAS TALIBAN TAITORS(R) ARE DOING EVERY THING TO TAKE AWAY ALL OUR RIGHTS! RIGHT BACK TO THE 6th CENTURY!!! PUBLIC CANINGS COMING SOON!

    2. People don’t change their minds based on all-caps rants that call people names and predict the future. When you see such rants from the right, does it prompt you to reconsider your beliefs? Is much more effective to be sincere and take the other side’s concerns seriously. Find something to tell them they’re right about, some way they can feel heard, then they ban cell safe enough to open their hearts and minds to a sincere conversation about how their actions harm someone.

    3. “PUBLIC CANINGS COMING SOON!”

Excellent! Low-cost, highly effective punishment that doesn’t require feeding and clothing the dirtbag for weeks or months.

      LONG OVERDUE. Very welcome.

  6. Students are still being “Left Behind”. Fully funding Title and IDEA programs will give Every student the opportunity and skills to embrace the world to the very best of their potential, interest and desire when they are ready to do so. Let their lights shine!!!!!
