Join a group working on issues that are important to you

Posted by NEA on September 21, 2008, 7:30 AM

There are thousands of groups working on important issues in this election.  Not only are there national groups, but there are local and state affiliates of national groups and independent local organizations. Joining an established group is one of the easiest ways to get involved this election season. Check with local websites and newspapers, political committees or community organizations to find a group near you. Examples include:

  • Issue-advocacy groups
  • Neighborhood groups
  • Social justice groups
  • Cultural and ethnic groups
  • Religious groups
  • Environmental groups
