Support Students’ Access to Quality Language Learning Opportunities
Research shows that the benefits of learning a language extend to all students. Understanding the interdependence of diverse communities strengthens students ability to navigate the global economy, whether they are native English speakers or English language learners.
Educators and communities have a role to play in ensuring all students have access to inclusive and diverse language opportunities. Mastering academic English and another language helps students thrive in the classroom and beyond.
By advocating for English language supports like bilingual education, dual language programs, and learning accommodations, educators bridge subject learning for approximately 10 percent of all students in the United States who benefit from these supports. That’s about 5 million students across the country!
Sign the pledge and support all students’ access to quality language learning opportunities.
