There should be no LOANS for college education.

Parents should be taxed for each child and that money go toward college/technical training after HS.

Birth - HS should be FREE ONLY but ONLY BASICS - reading, writing, math, science.

Students should be guaranteed work from age 14 on and 50% money be put in a 401K for after graduation from HS to start an apartment for independent living with a job or funding extra items if go to college. Too much time is spent for free in sports and competitive activities.

NO STUDENT NEEDS TO GO TO COLLEGE RIGHT OUT OF HS AT AGE 18. Most really have no clue of what they want to be or realistic aspect of whether they'll use their training once graduated. Go to college when have saved the money needed without loans.

Education is a life long need and constant re-training and can be achieved on the job.

College shouldn't be for growing up but a serious study of subject or job skills. Best to have the job first and work on training for next level in your field of choice.

All teachers, principals, superintendents or other staff private or public should be the same assessment evaluations from a separate state/federal team that writes evaluations and hires.

Remove all arts/sports/music into city recreation programs and out of education of basics. Public monies should not go for these activities.

Everyone talks about college affordability in terms of loans - this is misguided as it inevitably leads toward burdening students with enormous debt that takes half a lifetime to pay off. Education should be free from kindergarten to college, the way it is in most industrialized countries. The US us the richest country in the world so we should certainly be able to afford it, if we get out of these ruinous wars, and tax the rich and corporations at the rate they should be.
